Our 4th Socially Shared Women in Business Conference is the highlight of our calendar and this year the event will be held on Wednesday 8th June at Draycote Hotel and Golf Club, London Road, Rugby with ‘The Power of Communication’ as the main theme of the event.

The day begins with light refreshments and networking before we kick off with our amazing guest speakers. Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing you to each keynote speaker and sharing more details about what to expect at the conference.

Our fourth speaker of the day is Jo Roberts, a dealer of decorative artefacts and an artist.

Women in Business Conference 2022 | Speaker Jo Roberts

Jo originally trained as a teacher, then became a mum before returning to education as a mature student and becoming an artist. With no intention of changing her career, her creativity and intuition took over and she became a dealer of decorative artefacts.

“I call myself a Purveyor of Decorative Artefacts” says Jo from her home in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. “I buy and sell personally sourced, decorative art objects.”

We are thrilled that Jo is joining us for the conference and we can’t wait to hear about her love of decorative arts and unusual items. Jo will be talking about pitching and negotiating, using her skills and experiences as one of the resident dealers on BBC’s The Bidding Room, where she battles it out with other dealers to buy items bought by the public.

Her success in this arena, and in indeed what has opened the door to media opportunities, is built on the way Jo communicates with her customers. She sees them as someone to engage with, discuss their likes or needs, and build relationships with.

Jo will share her experiences with us and prove how communication is key to getting the most of your business relationships and how effective negotiating can be when buying or

selling your goods or services.
