Description

At Wren Hall, we have created a beautiful hardback cookbook packed with recipes from the wonderful bakers who have baked cakes for the Wren Hall Teas for over twenty-five years. This cookbook is a unique piece of local and social history, a baking cookbook with beautiful illustrations and photographs by an established pattern designer/illustrator and a Warwickshire photographer, a collection of real people’s recipes and tips, and a legacy to be cherished.

The Sunday Tea tradition started 26 years ago with three ladies, three cakes, and a pot of tea. Its success has grown so much that, on average, 150 visitors turn up each Sunday afternoon during British Summertime to enjoy homemade cake. The Sunday Teas have also provided a great opportunity for many charities to raise much-needed funds by running one of the tea sessions.

Naturally, the book includes many photographs of cakes, and we are very fortunate that Warwickshire artist Sara Page worked with us to provide beautiful contemporary illustrations throughout.
